Project Manager (Water Projects)

Project Manager – Water Asset Design (UK)

About the Role

At WSP, you can shape a career tailored to your passions. Join our global reach to explore new challenges, collaborate with diverse talent, and expand your perspectives.

Our Water Asset Design team operates primarily in the municipal water sector and unregulated (industrial/international) industries. We serve leading UK water companies, contractors, and suppliers, delivering wastewater treatment, water treatment, sewerage, and water network projects. From routine maintenance to national infrastructure, our projects span a broad spectrum—supported by teams based across the UK and India.

We are seeking a Project Manager to lead cross-functional project delivery from concept through handover to clients. You’ll work across infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects, guiding teams to achieve client objectives with a focus on cost, schedule, and quality control.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership: Manage proposals by defining scope, timelines, resources, budgets, and risk assessments to achieve project deliverables.
  • Financial Accountability: Own the P&L, including revenue tracking, margin optimisation, overhead monitoring, budget forecasting, and contract change management.
  • Documentation & Planning: Develop essential project management documentation, such as:
    • Project plans, cost estimates, and forecasts
    • Risk registers, schedules, stakeholder registers, and organisation charts
  • Monitoring & Control: Track progress against schedule, cost, and quality standards while managing contracts, workloads, and vendor relationships.
  • Team Management: Lead multi-disciplinary teams (engineers, specialists, suppliers) to ensure adherence to project quality, deadlines, and safety standards.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Translate complex project updates for internal teams and clients in an accurate and engaging way.
  • Conflict Resolution: Proactively identify and mitigate risks or issues that could disrupt project delivery.
  • Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of learning by capturing lessons from past projects.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
