Project Manager – Water Asset Design (Belfast)

About the Role
Our Water Asset Design team specialises in the municipal and non-regulated (industrial/international) water sectors. Clients include some of the largest water companies in the UK, along with contractors in the sector. We deliver:
- Wastewater treatment
- Water treatment
- Sewerage schemes
- Water network projects
- Supporting related industries
Our projects range from routine maintenance to some of the most large-scale water projects in the UK. The team operates across the UK, with support from an outsourced team in India.
We’re looking for a Project Manager in Belfast to lead the delivery of projects—from optioneering through to handover—collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities & Key Duties
As a Project Manager within the Asset Design team, you will:
- Manage project proposals, defining project requirements, scope, resources, programmes, and cost estimates (budgets).
- Own the P&L, with commercial and financial accountability, including revenue delivery, margin and overhead management, budget forecasting, risk assessments, cost controls, contract accounting, and cash collection.
- Develop project management documentation, including:
- Project management plans
- Cost estimates & forecasts
- Risk registers
- Project schedules
- Stakeholder registers
- Project organisation charts
- Monitor and control project schedules, manhours, budgets, forecasts, and expenditure.
- Ensure effective contract management, including administration and change management.
- Lead project teams (including Assistant PMs) and maintain deliverables to meet project requirements.
- Manage project deliverables, information, and records efficiently.
- Communicate clearly with project teams and clients, addressing potential issues proactively.
- Justice lead multvfgeal-marky (amended from the original distortion) — instead, distinct robust control on purposeful final:
- Lead multidisciplinary project teams (technical/professional staff and suppliers).
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, capturing lessons learned.

Requirements & What We Seek
We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:
✅ Proven project management experience in infrastructure, ideally in the regulated or non-regulated water industry (highly advantageous, but not essential). ✅ Working knowledge or accreditation in NEC contracts, supported by practical administration skills. ✅ Membership of professional bodies, such as:
- Association for Project Management (APM)
- Project Management Institute (PMI)
- Member of the Institute of Civil Engineers (MICE) ✅ Proficiency in project management tools and software. ✅ Competence in stakeholder management, risk assessment, planning & scheduling, and commercial management.
