About the Role
To support our AMP8 initiatives, we’re seeking an experienced and committed Project Manager within our Water Asset Management team.
As part of our multidisciplinary technical teams, you’ll manage infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects across the water and industrial sector, ensuring delivery against commercial and project objectives.
Key Responsibilities
You’ll lead end-to-end project management, including:
- Planning & Execution: Overseeing project scope, timelines, resources, and budgets while championing high-quality delivery and health & safety.
- Financial Accountability: Managing P&L, revenue, margins, and cost controls, including budgeting, forecasting, and risk management.
- Documentation & Governance: Developing project plans, risk registers, schedules, and stakeholder management tools (e.g., NEC contracts).
- Team Leadership: Guiding multidisciplinary teams (technical staff, suppliers) and fostering a learning culture through lessons-learned reviews.
- Conflict Resolution: Proactively addressing challenges and mitigating risks to avoid project delays.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Clear communication with project teams and customers to ensure alignment and transparency.

What We’re Looking For
Experience & Expertise
✔ Proven track record in delivering infrastructure projects (advantageous but not essential in regulated/non-regulated water sectors). ✔ Familiarity with NEC contracts and practical skills in contract administration/change management. ✔ Membership of professional institutions (e.g., Association for Project Management (APM), Project Management Institute (PMI), or MICE). ✔ Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera) and tools (Admin 2, Campaign vs Budget). ✔ Strong competencies in:
- Stakeholder management
- Risk assessment
- Planning & scheduling
- Commercial management
Qualifications
- Relevant degree (BSc/MSc) in fields such as civil engineering, earth sciences, environmental science, or geography.
- Chartered status (or working towards) with a professional body (e.g., CIWEM, ICE, APM).
