About the Role: Project Manager (Asset Management – Water Team)
Due to the scale of work required for AMP8, we are looking for experienced and committed individuals to join our Water team. This role will sit within the Asset Management team, working closely with multidisciplinary teams of technical experts.
As a Project Manager within the Asset Management team, you will oversee a range of infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects for water industry and industrial clients, ensuring:
- Planning, execution, monitoring, and control of projects
- Meeting client objectives through project delivery
- Leading teams to champion high-quality delivery and prioritise health and safety
Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Project Scope & Requirements:
- Manage project proposals, defining requirements, scope, resources, timelines, and cost estimates (budgets).

Financial & Commercial Accountability:
- Own Profit & Loss (P&L) responsibilities, including revenue delivery, margin and overhead management, budgeting, forecasting, risk management, accounts payable, billing, and cash collection.

Documentation & Compliance:
- Develop comprehensive project management documentation, such as:
- Project management plans
- Cost estimates and forecasts
- Risk registers
- Project schedules
- Stakeholder registers
- Contract and project organisation charts.

Monitoring & Control:
- Track project schedules, manhours, budgets, forecasts, and expenditures to ensure critical objectives are met.

- Ensure effective contract administration and manage project scope adjustments.

Project Delivery & Engagement:
- Oversee project deliverables, information, and records.
- Communicate project updates accurately to both the project team and clients.
- Proactively address challenges or conflicts to safeguard project success.

Team Leadership:
- Lead multi-disciplinary project teams, including technical and professional staff, as well as suppliers.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement through lessons learned analysis.
Key Requirements & Qualifications
Experience:
- Proven experience delivering infrastructure projects, ideally within the regulated or non-regulated water industry (advantageous but not mandatory).
- NEC contracting expertise, with the technical and practical skills necessary to effectively administer contracts.
Professional Accreditation:
- Membership of recognised professional institutions, such as:
- Association for Project Management (APM)
- Project Management Institute (PMI)
- Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (MICE)
Technical & Operational Proficiency:
- Strong fluency in project management tools and software.
- Competence in stakeholder management, risk assessment, planning and scheduling, and commercial management.
Education:
- BSc or MSc in a relevant discipline (e.g., civil engineering, earth sciences, environmental science, geography).
- Chartership status (or pursuit thereof) with a relevant professional body preferred.
