Project Manager (Water Projects - Asset Management)

Project Manager – Asset Management (Water Sector) | WSP

At WSP, you can shape a career as unique as you. Discover opportunities to grow, contribute to meaningful work, and collaborate with a global, diverse talent pool to expand your horizons.

About the Role

Due to the AMP8 project demands, we are seeking experienced and committed individuals to join our Water team within the Asset Management function, supporting our multidisciplinary technical teams.

As a Project Manager, you’ll lead a range of infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects across the water industry and industrial sector. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the entire project lifecycle: planning, execution, monitoring, control, and delivery.
  • Providing expert guidance to multidisciplinary project teams, championing high-quality delivery and health & safety compliance.
  • Balancing commercial, technical, and operational demands to meet client objectives.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Project Strategy & Proposals

    • Define project scope, requirements, resources, programme, and cost estimates (budgets).
    • Own P&L accountability, including revenue delivery, margin management, and financial controls (budgets, forecasts, risk/opportunity reviews, accounts payable/billing, and cash collection).
  • Project Planning & Documentation

    • Develop comprehensive project documentation, including management plans, cost estimates, risk registers, schedules, stakeholder matrices, and organisation charts.
  • Contract & Commercial Management

    • Ensure effective contract administration and change management.
    • Manage compliance, procurement, and billing processes.
  • Risk & Issue Management

    • Monitor schedules, man-hours, budgets, and expenditures.
    • Anticipate and address potential conflicts or escalations pre-emptively.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
