About the Role
Due to the scale of AMP8, we seek experienced and committed professionals to join our Water team within the Asset Management division. This role will involve collaborating with multidisciplinary technical experts in delivering a variety of infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects across water and industrial sectors.
As a Project Manager, you will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of projects while ensuring high-quality outputs, strong health and safety adherence, and effective cost and programme management.
Key Responsibilities
Your day-to-day will include:

Project scoping and planning:
- Assessing and defining project requirements, scope, resource allocation, programme scheduling, and cost estimates (budgets).

Financial accountability:
- Managing the Profit & Loss (P&L) including revenue, margin, and overhead tracking.
- Conducting risk and opportunity reviews, budget forecasting, expenditure controls, and accounts payable/billing management.

Project documentation and governance:
- Developing key project artifacts, including:
- Project management plans
- Cost estimates and forecasts
- Risk registers
- Stakeholder registers
- Project schedules (planning/scheduling)
- Organisation charts
- Developing key project artifacts, including:

Monitoring and control:
- Tracking schedule progression, man-hours, budgets, forecasts, and financial expenditure against defined targets.

Contract and stakeholder management:
- Ensuring effective contract administration and change management.
- Managing project deliverables, records, and knowledge exchange.

Communication and leadership:
- Providing clear, accurate project updates internally and to clients.
- Anticipating and resolving potential issues before they escalate.

- Team leadership:
- Guiding multidisciplinary project teams, blending both technical and supplier resources.
- Fostering a culture of lessons learned and incremental process improvement.
Requirements & Experience
We are looking for demonstrated evidence of:
- Established experience in delivering infrastructure projects, preferably within the regulated or non-regulated water industry (though relevant experience elsewhere will be considered).
- Working knowledge or certification in NEC contracts, with hands-on experience to administer them effectively.
- Professional memberships including (but not limited to):
- Association for Project Management (APM)
- Project Management Institute (PMI)
- Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (MICE)
- Technical and commercial competency in:
- Stakeholder engagement
- Risk management
- Planning and scheduling
- Projects financials (budgets and forecasting)

Qualifications

A BSc or MSc degree in a relevant discipline:
- Civil engineering
- Earth sciences
- Environmental science
- Geography (or applicant pursuing or nearing equivalent professional certification)
