Location: City of London, London Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum + Package Type: Full Time Region: UK - London

About the Role

Are you an experienced Monitoring Engineer looking to take the next step in your career on major civil engineering and infrastructure projects?

Do you enjoy combining technical expertise with client interaction, project coordination, and data analysis? If you're looking for a varied role where you'll play a key part in delivering geotechnical monitoring solutions while working with major contractors and clients, this could be the opportunity for you.

Our client, a well-established civil engineering contractor, is looking to appoint a Monitoring Engineer to join their delivery team on a long-term infrastructure project. This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in delivering complex and rewarding works, while progressing your career within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Install, commission, and maintain geotechnical monitoring instrumentation.
  • Carry out monitoring surveys and oversee the collection, collation, and interpretation of monitoring data in various software.
  • Manage, record, and maintain accurate monitoring records and project documentation.
  • Prepare and present monitoring data and technical updates to clients during project meetings.
  • Support the management and coordination of subcontractors and site operatives.
  • Prepare Method Statements, Risk Assessments, Activity Briefings, and Installation Commissioning Reports.
  • Liaise with clients, site teams, and project stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Develop an understanding of project costs, commercial awareness, and risk management to support successful project delivery.

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience in a geotechnical monitoring, instrumentation, or monitoring engineering role.
  • Strong knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles and industry best practices.
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to produce clear technical reports.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Experience interpreting and presenting monitoring data.
  • Good fault-finding, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • CSCS Card.

Desirable

  • Degree or degree equivalent in Civil Engineering, Geology, or a related discipline.
  • Experience using geotechnical monitoring software.
