We are currently working in partnership with a local authority in Surrey, who are looking to appoint a Project Officer (Housing) on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
This will be a full-time position, with hybrid working (2-3 days per week in the office) and a salary of £44,616.
The ideal candidate will have experience providing project and administrative support within a housing or local government environment, with strong organisational skills and the ability to coordinate multiple workstreams while supporting service transformation initiatives.
Duties
- Providing project and administrative support to the Head of Housing
- Supporting the delivery of Housing Service workstreams linked to Local Government Reorganisation (LGR)
- Maintaining project plans, risk logs, action trackers and performance dashboards
- Coordinating meetings, workshops and stakeholder engagement sessions, preparing agendas, minutes and action logs
- Drafting reports, briefing papers and committee reports
- Gathering, validating and presenting data to support service transformation, reporting and planning
- Liaising with internal departments, partner organisations and external agencies
- Reviewing processes and administrative systems to identify opportunities for service improvement
- Supporting procurement and contract administration activities
- Conducting research into housing legislation and policy to support decision-making

Experience Required
- Experience in a project support, project officer or administrative role
- Experience working within local government and/or social housing
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Required
- Strong organisational and time management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Experience maintaining project documentation, action trackers and reports
- Strong analytical and research skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
