Job title: Project Placement – Copyright and Picture Library Research
Salary: £12.71 p/hr
Hours: 222hrs (30 days placement)
Contract: Casual
Location: Leeds Art Gallery
This project will involve the candidate using our museum database to identify artworks within The Picture Library that we do not currently have copyright permissions for. Research will then be undertaken to find the current copyright holders. Once the copyright holders are identified, the candidate will contact them with the relevant paperwork and feed that back into our records.
The candidate will also research individual artworks in the scheme. This may be through direct contact with the artists and their estates, internet research or research in our library and artist files. This information will then be written up, attached to the artworks and their records and used in marketing to promote the scheme.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
