The planning function sits at the centre of delivery, working alongside Project Managers, Design Managers, and technical teams to build, maintain, and monitor programmes across multiple live projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing and maintaining project programmes in Microsoft Project
  • Working with Project Managers and technical teams to build realistic schedules
  • Monitoring progress against programme and flagging delays and risks early
  • Producing programme updates and progress reports for internal teams and clients
  • Identifying critical paths and recommending mitigation or recovery plans
  • Supporting resource planning and forecasting across multiple projects
  • Assisting with tender programmes and project bids
  • Attending project meetings and providing planning advice and support
  • Promoting best practice in planning and programme management

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a planning role within engineering, construction, or infrastructure
  • Hands-on experience with Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project
  • Strong understanding of project lifecycles and programme management principles
  • Excellent organisational and analytical skills with sharp attention to detail
  • Confident communicator, comfortable working with multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and competing priorities
  • Water, rail, or infrastructure sector experience beneficial but not essential
  • Full right to work in the UK (sponsorship not available)
