Job Title: Project Quality Engineer
Location: London (Watford)
Laing O'Rourke is delivering the Letchmore Heath Substation project, helping to strengthen the UK's electricity infrastructure and support growing energy demand.

The Opportunity
This is not just a compliance role. You will play a visible, hands-on role in helping teams deliver work right first time, improving standards and supporting a culture of pride in delivery.
You will partner with engineers, supervisors and supply chain teams to embed quality into everything we do.
What You Will Be Doing
- Act as the quality lead for a defined area or package of works
- Support teams to achieve Right First Time outcomes, reducing rework and improving performance
- Provide practical guidance on quality processes, not just governance
- Carry out site inspections and assurance activities
- Review and support documentation such as Quality Plans, ITPs and Method Statements
- Support the management of defects, NCRs and close out
- Contribute to a strong, positive quality culture on site
- Use digital tools such as Field View and Asite to support the golden thread

What we are looking for
We are keen to hear from people with a range of backgrounds. If you do not meet every requirement, we would still encourage you to apply.
- Experience in a quality, assurance or engineering role
- Knowledge of construction, civils or related project environments
- An interest in developing your career within the energy or infrastructure sector
- Understanding of ISO 9001 or similar quality systems
- Comfortable working on site and building relationships with delivery teams
- Experience with digital assurance tools is helpful but not essential
