Project Quality Manager
About The Role
Balfour Beatty is seeking a proactive and passionate Project Quality Manager to join our Regional Civils team on the landmark Net Zero Teesside (NZT) project in the North East on an 18-month fixed-term contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in one of the UK's most significant low-carbon infrastructure schemes, helping to drive quality excellence across all stages of project delivery.
As Project Quality Manager, you will work closely with our construction teams to ensure compliance with project quality requirements, championing a culture of continuous improvement and reinforcing our commitment to delivering projects Right First Time. You will provide expert guidance, support best practice across the project, and help embed robust quality processes that enhance performance and reduce avoidable errors.
This role offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact by proactively sharing knowledge and lessons learned from both current and previous projects, fostering a positive quality culture and supporting the successful delivery of a complex, high-profile infrastructure programme. If you are passionate about driving quality standards, influencing project performance, and leaving a legacy on a nationally important project, we would love to hear from you.
Join us and help deliver a project that will support the UK's net zero ambitions while ensuring the highest standards of quality, compliance and operational excellence throughout the construction lifecycle.

- Working collaboratively with delivery teams to achieve defect-free handovers, ensuring a positive customer experience and a lasting project legacy.
- Facilitating internal and external audits, supporting auditors throughout the process and ensuring findings, actions and lessons learned are effectively communicated and embedded across the project.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
