Project Quantity Surveyor
Highwater Associates is an independent construction consultancy providing Development Management, Project Management and Cost Consultancy services across a diverse range of sectors.
Highwater Associates is seeking a Project Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of quantity surveying and cost management services across a diverse range of projects, typically valued between £2m and £10m.
Working alongside Senior Quantity Surveyors, Project Managers and the wider project team, you will be involved throughout the project lifecycle, from feasibility and procurement through to completion and final account. This role offers excellent exposure to clients, consultants and contractors, providing a strong platform for professional development and career progression.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Deliver quantity surveying and cost management services across all project stages.
- Prepare cost estimates, feasibility studies and cost plans.
- Support procurement strategies, contract selection and tender processes.
- Carry out tender evaluations and provide procurement recommendations.
- Prepare valuations, payment assessments and cost reports.
- Monitor project budgets, forecasts, variations and commercial risks.
- Maintain change control, variation and risk management records.
- Support contract administration and final account negotiations.
- Attend project meetings and provide commercial support to clients and stakeholders.
- Build strong working relationships with clients, contractors and project teams.
- Utilise digital cost management tools to support project delivery.
- Monitor market conditions, construction costs and industry trends.

Requirements:
- 2–5 years' quantity surveying experience within a consultancy, contractor or similar construction environment.
- Good understanding of cost planning, procurement, tendering, valuations, variations and final accounts.
- Experience supporting both pre-contract and post-contract services.
- Strong numerical, analytical and commercial skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and standard business software.
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

Desirable:
- Experience within a construction consultancy.
- Knowledge of JCT contracts.
- Experience using Bluebeam or similar measurement software.
- MRICS qualified preferred; candidates actively working towards chartership through the APC pathway will also be considered.
Working Hours:
- Monday- Thursday: 09:00 - 18:00 with 45 minutes lunch break.
- Fridays:
- November – February 09:00 - 14:00
- March – October 09:00 - 15:00

- £35,000–£50,000 depending on experience.
