Senior Risk Manager (Defence, Rail, Infrastructure, Digital & AI Services)


Key Security Requirement

  • Be a SOLE UK National who can achieve and maintain a UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) Security Clearance (SC).

Position: Cost Centre & Programme Performance Team

Responsibilities

Core Duties

  • Develop and implement risk management frameworks aligned with ISO 31000, ensuring seamless integration across portfolios, programmes, and projects for enhanced resilience and performance.
  • Conduct Quantitative Risk Analysis (QeRA), generating actionable insights to support data-driven decision-making both independently and in collaboration with senior leadership.
  • Leverage expertise in interconnected Project Controls domains, including:
    • Cost management
    • Scheduling (e.g., Primavera P6)
    • Change management
  • Support full project lifecycles (e.g., RIBA for construction or GRIP for defence sector), aligning with industry best practices.
  • Apply knowledge of adaptive methodologies (e.g., Agile) in Digital/AI projects.
  • SOX compliance responsibilities may apply where relevant.

Technical Skills & Tools

  • Proficiency with risk management software, including:
    • ARM (live databases)
    • @Risk/Risk Simulator
    • Predict! (Safran Risk)
    • PowerBI/Tableau for dynamic risk reporting.
  • Advanced Excel modelling capabilities.
  • Experience with risk assessment models and their impact analyses.

Essential Requirements

  • Industry experience in Defence, Rail, Infrastructure, or Digital/AI project/programme environments.
  • Demonstrated ability in:
    • Risk framework development.
    • Benchmark and benchmarking risk analysis.
    • Portfolio/risk insights for multidisciplinary stakeholders.

Desirable Qualifications

  • A relevant risk qualification (e.g., APM Project Risk Management certification, MoR", or "IRM Postgraduate Diploma.
  • Familiarity with risk-based cost benefits and portfolio-level financial oversight.
