About the Role
As Projects Sales Manager, you'll be responsible for helping grow Primech's Projects Division by identifying, developing and winning new business opportunities across both public and private sectors.
This is a proactive sales role focused on building relationships, creating opportunities and securing profitable M&E projects. You'll be out in the market meeting clients, consultants, architects, developers and main contractors, developing new relationships while maintaining existing ones.
From the first conversation through to contract award, you'll take ownership of opportunities and work closely with our Estimating Team, Contracts Managers and Senior Leadership Team to ensure we pursue the right projects and submit competitive, high-quality bids.
We're looking for someone who enjoys opening doors, building long-term relationships and helping drive business growth. You'll play an important role in strengthening Primech's reputation and helping us secure projects that fit our capabilities and long-term ambitions.
Business Development & Market Intelligence
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities across Primech's target sectors, including healthcare, education, commercial, blue-light and industrial.
- Keep up to date with upcoming projects, framework opportunities, procurement routes and market activity to maintain a strong pipeline of work.
- Research competitors, market trends and sector developments to help identify new opportunities for growth.
- Develop business development plans that support Primech's objectives within key sectors.
- Work to secure places on approved contractor lists, frameworks and other routes to market.
- Share market insights and opportunities with the Senior Leadership Team to support business planning and decision-making.
Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, architects, developers, main contractors and other key stakeholders.
- Create a structured programme of client engagement to maintain existing relationships and develop new ones.
- Represent Primech professionally at meetings, networking events, industry exhibitions and sector forums.
- Keep CRM records up to date, ensuring all activity, opportunities, communications and forecasts are accurately recorded.
- Work closely with Contracts Managers to ensure a smooth handover once projects are secured.
- Promote Primech's values, capabilities and commitment to quality in all client interactions.
- Maintain regular contact with key clients to understand future opportunities and strengthen long-term relationships.

Pre-sales & Bid Management
- Lead introductory meetings with prospective clients to understand project requirements, budgets and programme expectations.
- Assess opportunities and contribute to bid/no-bid decisions alongside the Estimating Team and Senior Leadership Team.
- Coordinate tender submissions, ensuring proposals are commercially competitive, technically sound and aligned with client requirements.
- Attend site visits, surveys and pre-tender meetings as required.
- Prepare and deliver presentations, capability statements and tender clarification responses.
- Work with the Estimating Team to develop pricing strategies, value engineering options and alternative solutions where appropriate.
- Negotiate scope, commercial terms and contract details to secure project awards.
- Maintain accurate records of tender activity and outcomes.
- Review unsuccessful bids and identify improvements that can be applied to future submissions.
Post-Award & Handover
- Lead project handovers to Contracts Managers, ensuring all commercial, technical and client information is transferred effectively.
- Support mobilisation activities where required to help projects get off to a successful start.
- Stay involved during project delivery to support client relationships and assist with any commercial matters.
- Carry out client review meetings to gather feedback and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Seek testimonials, referrals and case study opportunities that can support future business development activity.
- Identify opportunities for repeat business and account growth and share these with the Senior Leadership Team.
Reporting & General Responsibilities
- Provide regular updates on pipeline activity, opportunities, sales performance and revenue forecasts.
- Support the development of marketing materials, client presentations and business development campaigns.
- Maintain a good understanding of Primech's services, project portfolio and operational capabilities.
- Follow all company policies, procedures and compliance requirements.
- Contribute positively to the wider business and support the achievement of company growth objectives.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the business to ensure opportunities are aligned with operational delivery capabilities.
Essential
- Strong understanding of the M&E building services sector and wider construction market.
- Proven ability to identify, develop and win new business opportunities.
- Experience reviewing tender documents, specifications and project information.
- Excellent relationship-building and networking skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
- Commercially aware with an understanding of procurement routes and contract structures.
- Confident negotiator with the ability to build trust while protecting commercial interests.
- Self-motivated, organised and able to manage multiple opportunities at different stages.
- Competent user of CRM systems, Microsoft Office and digital communication tools.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines.
- Positive attitude with a genuine interest in construction, building services and business development.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Valid CSCS Card or willingness to obtain one.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development in sales, business development or a related discipline.
- Enhanced DBS clearance or willingness to obtain.
- BPSS clearance or willingness to obtain.
- A proactive and self-motivated individual who enjoys generating new business opportunities.
- Comfortable building relationships with new and existing clients.
- Driven by achieving results and contributing to business growth.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- A collaborative approach and willingness to work closely with colleagues across the business.
- Experience within M&E, building services, construction or a related industry.
- Proven success in winning new business and securing project opportunities.
- Confident discussing budgets, commercial matters and project requirements with clients.
- Professional, approachable and credible when representing Primech.
- A positive attitude with a willingness to learn and continually improve.

Desirable
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Business, Sales, Construction Management, Building Services Engineering or a related field.
- Formal sales or business development training.
- Security Clearance (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV) for government or defence-related projects.
