About the Role
We seek an experienced Project Scheduler / Planner to support the delivery of industrial service projects within the marine and ship repair sector. Working alongside Project Managers, Site Supervisors, and operational/commercial teams, you will play a key role in planning, scheduling, and coordinating resources across multiple projects, including marine refits, repairs, and maintenance.

This role requires a proactive individual who can:
- Develop robust project schedules
- Accurately forecast labour, plant, and equipment to ensure timely, safe, and efficient delivery
- Maintain overall project efficiency while collaborating across teams
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed project programmes from tender through completion
- Produce short-, medium-, and long-term labour forecasts across multiple projects
- Forecast plant, equipment, and material requirements aligned with schedules
- Monitor actual vs. forecasted labour and plant utilisation, identifying variances
- Track project progress and update schedules using site updates and reports
- Identify programme risks, delays, and resource constraints, proposing mitigation strategies
- Coordinate resource planning across projects to optimise efficiency
- Prepare weekly and monthly planning reports for senior management
- Collaborate with project teams to meet milestones
- Support tender planning and resource estimation for new projects
- Maintain accurate records of resource allocation, productivity, and performance

Skills & Experience
Essential
✔ Experience as a Project Planner, Scheduler, or Project Controls professional in:
- Industrial services
- Engineering
- Ship repair
- Marine industry
✔ Experience with labour, plant, and equipment forecasting
✔ Proficiency in project scheduling software (Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent)
✔ Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (data analysis, modelling, reporting)
✔ Ability to analyse project data and produce clear, actionable reports
✔ Strong organisation and communication skills
✔ Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Desirable
🔹 Experience in:
- Marine refits, dry dock operations, naval support, offshore services, or heavy engineering
🔹 Understanding of Critical Path Methodology (CPM) and resource-loaded scheduling
🔹 Familiarity with:
- Project reporting
- Earned value management
- Performance metrics
🔹 Knowledge of HSES (Health, Safety, Environment, and Sustainability) requirements
