Project / Senior Quantity Surveyors — Colchester, Richard Utting Associates LLP | Full-time, Permanent

We're hiring a Project / Senior Quantity Surveyors to join our Colchester office and support the commercial delivery on a varied portfolio of construction projects across East Anglia.

About us: Richard Utting Associates LLP (RUA LLP) is an independent firm of construction consultants established in 2011, with offices in Norwich, Cambridge and Colchester. We provide Project Management, Quantity Surveying, Employer's Agent, Bank / Fund Monitoring and Insurance Reinstatement Valuation Services across the commercial, residential, and infrastructure sectors.

Led by an experienced partnership, we've built our reputation on technical excellence, commercial acumen and tailored hands-on advice.

The role: Reporting to a Partner / Associate, you'll manage projects from inception, through to final account, handling both pre and post contract instructions.

Day-to-day, you'll be: Preparing cost plans, feasibility estimates and order-of-cost estimates; Supporting delivery of advice on procurement routes and contract selection (JCT, NEC, and others); Running tender processes, documentation, analysis and recommendations; Supporting post-contract duties, valuations, change control, cashflow, final accounts and producing cost reports; Supporting junior colleagues; Building lasting client relationships and representing RUA LLP.

What we are looking for: Experience across commercial, residential or infrastructure sectors Degree in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent) accredited by the RICS; MRICS, or actively working towards chartership via the APC; Experience in UK construction at consultant or client-side; Working knowledge of pre and post contract Quantity Surveying duties; Familiarity with JCT and / or NEC contract suites; Confident communicator; Full UK driving licence (project work spans the region). Desire to work within a growing close-knit team.
