Project Support Officer

Project Support Officer (AMMIC Project)

We are looking for an enthusiastic Project Support Officer to support the PrintCity team with the delivery of the Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Innovation Centre (AMMIC) project.

As a key member of the University's Business Engagement and Partnerships Directorate, you will provide a vital role in the delivery of the AMMIC programme, helping external stakeholders access innovation and support.


About the Role

Working as a key member of the PrintCity team, you will support the planning, coordination, and delivery of a wide range of administrative activities. This will help ensure the team effectively delivers innovation projects with universities and companies. You will collaborate closely with the Centre for Enterprise, Research and Innovation and the Finance teams.

Your role will involve:

  • Administering AMMIC projects to ensure they are delivered professionally, efficiently, and with clear communication
  • Supporting the strategy of trade, business, and international engagement on advanced manufacturing innovation
  • Conducting stakeholder management in the advanced materials and manufacturing sectors

Requirements

We are seeking a highly organised, proactive, and detail-oriented administrator with an interest in business engagement and project delivery. Ideal candidates should have:

  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to deliver tasks with high precision and attention to detail
  • Strong administrative skills, including the ability to follow (with occasional improvement) existing business and procedural frameworks
  • Strong prioritisation and time-management abilities, ensuring multiple deadlines and tasks are met effectively
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt content and approaches for various stakeholders
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work both independently as well as collaboratively in a team
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach, with enthusiasm for taking initiative

There are no mandatory qualifications required for this role, however the following would all be considered positively:

  • Some administrative and project management experience, preferably in a business, research, or innovation context
  • A relevant degree (BSc or MSc) in Business Administration, Science, Engineering, or another relevant discipline
  • Skills in contract writing and reviewing, administrative database management, and financial reporting
  • Proficiency in the full suite of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams, PowerPoint, Access)
