About the job.
National Highways have an excellent opportunity for multiple Project Support Officers to join our Enhancements team in Major Projects. As a Project Support Officer, you will support and enable the delivery of capital investment projects in the Major Projects directorate. The broad scope of this role encompasses the delivery and coordination of project and administrative support to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to time, quality, and within budget.
These positions will be based from either of our Leeds or Manchester offices; however, travel to other offices/sites within the region will be required, and a minimum of two days per week will be expected in the office or on site.
Please note that we are recruiting for three positions. Two of these opportunities are permanent and one is for a 12-month fixed-term contract. Candidates will be considered for both permanent and fixed-term opportunities unless they indicate a preference during the recruitment process.
- Provide comprehensive project support for project management activities including finance, document control, and scheme governance ensuring the accuracy and quality of project data and compliance.
- Develop and sustain effective working relationships with key stakeholders in National Highways and the supply chain.
- Enable and support effective information management including the maintenance of high-quality project products and records in accordance with National Highways Policies and Procedures and legal requirements.
- Support with project / programme governance and assurance requirements including stage gate assessments, independent audits, and project health checks.
- Assist with project management products including project plans, risk registers, action logs, benefits registers, and stakeholder engagement plans.

External candidates will be offered a starting salary at the lower end of the pay scale, while current employees will be appointed in accordance with our established pay policy.
