Project Support Officer (Parking Fleet and Transport Ops)

Project Officer x 2 – Innovation and Change Team, Parking Services

Contract Type: Permanent Working Hours: Full-time, standard variable (usually between 8:00am and 4:00pm), subject to service needs Worker Type: Hybrid Worker Salary: £32,597 (Level 1) rising to £35,412 (Level 4) per annum (prorata for part-time; pay award pending) Closing Date: 17th July 2026 Interviews: Week commencing 10th August 2026 Locations: Primarily home-based with in-person attendance at Council sites, meetings, training and events as required

Parking Services encompasses:

  • Parking operations and compliance
  • Workplace Parking Levy & Charge
  • Corporate vehicle hire management
  • Service transformation and regulation
  • Data-led monitoring and financial protection

As a Project Officer, you’ll:

  • Lead and deliver projects to deliver defined priorities across the portfolio.
  • Support service transformation, governance, and risk management.
  • Turn ideas into action, using structured approaches to manage project complexities.

Your core responsibilities include:

  • Chairing/reviewing project documentation (briefs, reports, risk registers)
  • Ensuring projects align with time, cost and quality standards
  • Supporting cross-functional teams and external stakeholders
  • Facilitating meetings, workshops, and decision-making processes
  • Measuring progress via benchmarks, data and feedback
  • Developing strategic and operational insights to support service evolution

Key Requirements & Ideal Candidate

Expertise & Attributes

This role is open to architects, facilitators and problem-solvers—no prior parking expertise is required. Successfully you’ll need:

Essential Skills:

  • Proven project support or service improvement experience (whatever your sector)
  • Strong organisation, time-management and prioritisation skills,
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication (minimising paperwork hassle!)
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively
  • Data-driven mindset—using evidence to shape decisions and solve issues
