Project Support Officer – PMO Governance Support
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Support Officer to join a growing PMO and Governance Support function. This is a hands-on role supporting the establishment and day-to-day operation of PMO, governance and front-door processes, ensuring effective coordination and delivery across a portfolio of work.
Working closely with project and programme colleagues, you will help embed robust governance arrangements, maintain delivery plans, support reporting cycles and ensure actions, dependencies and risks are effectively managed. This role is suited to someone who enjoys working at pace, is highly organised and can support delivery as well as process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the establishment and operation of PMO, governance and front-door processes.
- Work collaboratively with the existing PMO team to implement and maintain delivery controls aligned to agreed priorities and delivery plans.
- Manage and track actions, decisions, risks, issues and dependencies, ensuring prompt follow-up and escalation where appropriate.
- Coordinate project and programme reporting activities, providing accurate and timely management information.
- Support planning and scheduling activities, helping teams maintain delivery milestones and priorities.
- Arrange and support governance forums, boards and working groups, including production of papers, minutes and action logs.
- Maintain project documentation and delivery artefacts to ensure information is accurate, accessible and audit-ready.
- Work proactively with stakeholders across business and delivery teams to support successful delivery outcomes.
- Contribute to delivery activities and implementation tasks, supporting the practical execution of agreed plans rather than solely designing processes.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
