Project Support Officer Wilder Wealden

Location: The Keep, Brighton

Salary: £26,770

Contract Type: Fixed term contract - 5 years

Hours: 35 per week

The Role

Sussex Wildlife Trust is seeking an organised, proactive, and people-focused Project Support Officer to help deliver the new five-year nature recovery project - Wilder Wealden. Wilder Wealden is the third in a portfolio of Wilder Projects that are hosted by Sussex Wildlife Trust.

This is an exciting opportunity to support practical action for wildlife by providing high-quality administration, communications, volunteer coordination, and stakeholder engagement for a collaborative nature recovery programme. The project is new, so you will be helping develop systems, relationships, and ways of working straight away. Working closely with the Land Advice Manager, Land Advisors, Wealden District Council, and colleagues across the Trust, you will play a key role in ensuring the project runs smoothly and professionally. You will be the initial point of contact for stakeholders interested in Wilder Wealden, help coordinate project communications, and impact reporting. You will support the project governance and financial processes and oversee the development of a Wilder Wealden volunteer team.

The Person

This role would suit someone who enjoys bringing structure to busy projects and supporting collaborative work that delivers positive outcomes for wildlife and communities. You will be confident and accomplished with delivering administrative tasks to deadlines. You will relish the opportunity to think innovatively about communication of the project to a wide diversity of audiences through a range of communication media, while valuing attention to detail. You will enjoy supporting colleagues across the team to deliver excellent opportunities for nature recovery.
