Project Test Lead – VMS Implementation, UAT & Test Scripts
Contract Role | Location: London/Hybrid | Rate: £700 p/d (Inside IR35 via Umbrella) | Duration: Initial 6-month contract
About the Role
A leading global financial services organisation is recruiting a Project Test Lead to support their London office in a Vendor Management System (VMS) implementation as part of their External Workforce programme.
This is a hands-on test leadership opportunity, focusing on:
- Ownership of test planning and coordination across the full project lifecycle.
- Defining the test scope, approach, timelines, and entry/exit criteria.
- Development and management of VMS test scripts, scenarios, and execution materials, aligned with:
- Business processes
- Configuration decisions
- Reporting requirements
- Coordination of UAT (User Acceptance Testing) with business users and workstream leads.
- Management of defect tracking and retesting through to final sign-off.
- Validation of VMS configuration, workflows, approvals, integrations, and reporting outputs end-to-end.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead test planning and execution, including defining timelines, scope, and evaluation criteria.
- Create and maintain test scripts, scenarios, and execution documentation from scratch.
- Develop and map test evidence against business requirements and technical configurations.
- Facilitate UAT sessions, including briefing participants, managing test execution, and troubleshooting defects.
- Oversee defect tracking, retesting, and resolution workflows to ensure sign-off readiness.
- Validate VMS functionality, integrations, reporting, and approval processes.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, IT, and project teams to align testing with delivery goals.

Key Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in test leadership or UAT coordination, especially on system implementation/transformation projects.
- Hands-on experience in testing VMS platforms, with preference for:
- SAP Fieldglass or Workday VNDLY (but other platforms will be considered).
- Strong background in writing test scenarios and scripts from inception, including:
- Execution planning
- Evidence capture
- Defect tracking
- Experience running end-to-end UAT, including:
- Stakeholder briefings
- Execution management
- Defect resolution
- Sign-off preparation.
- Familiarity with financial services or procurement processes (highly desirable).
- Knowledge of ** Geschäftkeit IM9** (specificERP system in financial services context) is a plus.
