Job Description:
Role Overview
As a Project Value Analyst, you will support the development of Fluence’s investment analytics capability by building financial models, conducting analysis, and enabling deal teams with robust valuation outputs. You will also become an expert on key BESS markets and the best assumptions for how to model out the lifetime performance of BESS assets, and how leading IPPs and project investors are likely to model out and think about risk / return decisions.
Key Responsibilities

Financial Modeling & Analysis
- Build and maintain IRR, NPV, and TCO models for energy storage projects
- Conduct scenario analysis, sensitivities, and performance benchmarking
- Support development of standardized financial modeling templates

Data & Assumptions Management
- Gather, validate, and structure inputs (pricing, costs, performance, market data)
- Ensure consistency across models and analyses
- Document assumptions and modeling logic
- Complete deep dive on key items or factors, including a specific market or cost related time

Deal Support
- Provide modeling support for active deals and proposals
- Prepare outputs for internal reviews and customer-facing materials
- Support senior team members in complex valuation analyses

Continuous Improvement
- Improve model usability, automation, and scalability
- Support integration of financial models into commercial tools
- Prepare executive level material to review key derived commercial insights.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Engineering, Economics, or related field
- 1–3 years of experience in financial modeling or analytics
- Strong Excel skills (required); experience with Python/SQL a plus
- Exposure to energy or infrastructure projects preferred
This is an onsite position, and we are seeking candidates who live within a reasonable commuting distance of the Fluence office and are available to work onsite four days per week.
