About the Role
We're looking for an experienced brewer to take on the role of Projects Brewer within our Production team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to broaden their impact beyond day-to-day brewing operations by leading continuous improvement projects, driving quality enhancements and supporting the ongoing development of our brewing processes.
Working closely with the Brewing Manager and Assistant Brewing Manager, you'll provide technical expertise across brewing, fermentation and processing, while acting as a key support to the wider Brewing team. You'll take ownership of the brewery's continuous improvement programme, investigate product non-conformances and help ensure our department continues to meet BRCGS START standards.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, thrives on improving processes and wants to play a key role in shaping the future of our brewing operation.
What You'll Be Doing
- Providing technical expertise across brewing, fermentation and processing activities
- Supporting the Brewing team and providing operational cover during periods of absence or increased demand
- Leading the brewery's continuous improvement programme, identifying opportunities to improve quality, efficiency and reduce waste
- Managing and delivering improvement projects, consulting with the team as appropriate and where possible quantifying benefits.
- Investigating product non-conformances, identifying root causes and implementing effective corrective actions
- Working closely with the Quality Assurance team to support compliance with BRCGS START standards and respond to audit findings
- Championing high standards of health & safety and food safety, identifying opportunities to improve ways of working
- Monitoring brewing processes, identifying operational issues and escalating where appropriate
- Refining existing brewing processes to improve consistency, quality and operational performance
- Sharing technical knowledge and supporting colleagues across the Brewing and wider Production teams

What We're Looking For
- General Certificate in Brewing (or equivalent brewing qualification)
- Strong technical knowledge of brewing, fermentation and processing operations
- Experience working within a brewing or beverage production environment
- A passion for continuous improvement and delivering operational excellence
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate issues and identify practical solutions
- A good understanding of food safety, quality management systems and brewing standards
- The ability to plan, prioritise and manage multiple projects effectively
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships across departments
- A proactive approach with a desire to challenge existing processes and drive positive change
- A commitment to maintaining the highest standards of health, safety and product quality
