The Role
Job Title: Promoting Independence Worker
The Maximising Independence Service (MIS) seeks a Passionate Promoting Independence Worker to join their dynamic team. In this role, you will support individuals aged 17.5 years and over for up to 12 weeks, promoting independence and well-being through a strengths-based approach.
Your work will involve delivering short-term support, advice, and information to help people regain confidence and regain independence, with a focus on skills for daily living.
Key Responsibilities
As a Promoting Independence Worker, your role will involve:
- Delivering reablement-focused programmes to help individuals build essential daily living skills.
- Identifying opportunities for independence and connecting people to appropriate community services.
- Promoting social inclusion by encouraging participation in community activities.
- Providing practical information, advice, and support to individuals and their carers.
- Maintaining accurate records and monitoring ongoing support effectiveness.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best possible outcomes for service users.

Requirements
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- A relevant health or social care qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
- A minimum of two years’ experience in care work, voluntary, paid, or personal experience accepted.
- Knowledge of community care services and adherence to legislative requirements, including the Care Act 2014.
- Proficiency in using IT applications for record-keeping, assessment, and reporting.
