Property Accountant
Property Accountant – EMEA Managed Services
Position Overview
Outstanding opportunity for an enthusiastic, hard-working and highly motivated individual to join MRI’s EMEA Managed Services delivery team. We’re looking for a high-performing Property Accountant to support our property accounting outsourcing function within the commercial, residential & social housing sectors. You’ll own client engagements, visit sites, and leverage global delivery teams to deliver accounting support, managing workloads and ensuring client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end Service Charge engagements, from budgeting through to year-end processes, ensuring compliance with lease terms and Technical Release 03/11.
- Produce compliant accounts tailored to client requirements, including VAT considerations for mixed-use properties.
- Work with the global delivery team to allocate tasks and deliver client projects efficiently.
- Collaborate with leadership to identify and implement process efficiencies.
- Support broader property accounting functions, including Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and General Ledger (GL).
- Act as a subject matter expert for complex queries in property accounting.
- Assist in defining best practices for portfolio onboarding from prior agencies.
- Continuously seek opportunities for efficiency, automation, and improvement.
- Support leadership with special projects and strategic business initiatives.
- Build strong client relationships, visit sites, and drive satisfaction and retention through high-quality service delivery.

Requirements
Essential
- Comprehensive knowledge of property accounting functions, with a focus on Service Charge management.
- 3+ years of experience in Service Charge accounting across Commercial & Residential sectors.
- Proficiency in MRI software solutions (Horizon, QubePM, or PMX).
- Strong understanding of RICS Service Charge Guidelines.
- Previous experience in a client-facing role.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- AAT / CIMA / ACCA / or similar accounting qualification (working towards or achieved).
Desirable
- Exposure to Service Charge in Social Housing.
- Strategic understanding of cost-saving measures and operational improvements.
