What we’re looking for
We’re looking for passionate team players to bring joy to our customers every day. As a Property Accounting Manager you’ll be responsible for ensuring high quality property accounting is performed for each of our markets globally. This will include:
- Along with the property accountant, prepare and post all property-related accounting transactions for Pret’s UK and International operations under both UK GAAP and IFRS
- Work closely with property teams globally to understand changes to the property portfolio on a timely basis
- Liaise with other finance teams, such as P2P, Tax, Group reporting and FP&A to support the work of those teams
- Review data in the Group’s property management system to ensure it is kept up to date
- Manage a high volume of transactions across multi-entity, multi-currency Group structure ensuring high levels of accuracy with a culture of no surprises
- Drive the adoption of common processes and standards across all global entities
- Monitor timely completion of period end tasks, ensuring preparation and review of all reconciliations is carried out according to period end deadlines
- Perform primary review of all work completed by the team
- Support the team with daily activities and ad hoc queries as required
- Support the preparation of commentary for period end management accounts, including an understanding of variances
- Support the preparation of disclosures for the annual financial statements
- Support the year end audit process
- Support the budget process

About you

- Professional accounting qualification required (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
- Working knowledge of property accounting requirements under UK GAAP and IFRS
- Experience managing a team preferred
- Strong communication skills and proven capability in building relationships with those inside and outside finance
- Resilient and able to work to tight deadlines

The interview journey
Every interview process at Pret begins with the same two stages. First, you’ll have a relaxed 30-minute conversation with our recruitment team so we can get to know you and your experience. Next, you’ll be invited to a one-hour, in-person interview with the hiring manager at our Head Office in London Victoria.
Depending on the role and function, there may be additional stages. These could include time spent in one of our shops, completing a task, or meeting a senior leader.
Before you apply
This role is based at Pret’s Support Centre in London Victoria, where we work in a hybrid way - typically three days a week in the office.
