What is the role?
Provides legal advice to the Property and Retail teams, the Commercial IT team, Procurement and the wider business as required.
Role includes handling lettings of commercially and operationally important space to airlines and other business partners, drafting and negotiating significant retail and other commercial agreements and assisting the Property and Commercial Solicitor with significant property acquisitions and disposals.
This role takes an office first hybrid approach here at London Gatwick, with three days a week in the office, two days remote, managed around the needs of the business.
What will you do?
- Provision of timely and accurate legal support to the business
- Drafting and negotiating high value agreements
- Provision of advice in relation to aspects of contract management
- Provision of advice on impacts of various legislative requirements
- Providing legal support to various other functions within the business including marketing, customer complaints and IT.
Do you have what we're looking for?
- Professional legal qualification
- Current practicing certificate
- A clear understanding of the commercial objectives of the business, on the levels of individual transactions and more strategic requirements.
- Experience in a legal role dealing with landlord and tenant law and broader commercial/business experience.
- A good understanding of the industry in which the business operates.
- Experience in property law in a recognised law firm.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to articulate complex legal concepts in a clear easily digestible way.
- Strong logical and analytical skills.
- The ability to think critically and objectively about the legal and commercial issues that the business may face.
- The ability to translate legal and commercial understanding into practical and actionable advice, understanding and anticipating the consequences of that advice.
