The Role
Property Damage & Recoveries Solicitor – Manchester / Bristol / Leeds – Hybrid – Up to £65,000
A leading national law firm is seeking a Property Damage & Recoveries Solicitor to join its specialist Manchester / Bristol / Leeds team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a highly regarded Property Damage and Recoveries department, handling a varied and high-quality caseload for major insurer clients across both household and commercial claims.
As a Property Damage & Recoveries Solicitor in the Manchester / Bristol / Leeds team, you’ll manage complex subrogated recovery matters, work closely with insurer clients, and contribute to client development, training, and knowledge-sharing initiatives within a collaborative and well-established national practice.
Responsibilities
- Managing a caseload of property damage recovery claims across household and commercial lines
- Handling matters arising from fire, flood, escape of water, impact, and product liability
- Running claims typically valued between £10,000 and £100,000+
- Drafting pleadings, correspondence, and technical legal documentation
- Conducting detailed investigations into liability, causation, and quantum
- Engaging in settlement negotiations and ADR processes
- Supporting client training, seminars, and knowledge-sharing sessions
- Mentoring junior colleagues and contributing to team development

The Candidate
- Qualified Solicitor (or equivalent) with relevant technical experience
- 1-4 years’ experience in property damage litigation (defendant or claimant)
- Experience managing your own caseload of property damage and/or recovery claims
- Strong working knowledge of household and commercial recoveries
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to provide clear, practical advice
- Confident drafting and communication skills
- Organised, proactive, and able to work independently
- Client-focused with strong interpersonal skills
- Interest in negotiation, advocacy, and technically complex work
