Description

Be the Expert Behind the Resolution

At Davies, we understand that when property damage occurs, customers need more than just a claims handler—they need a trusted expert who can guide them through challenging circumstances with confidence and empathy.

As a Desktop Loss Adjuster, you'll play a key role in delivering outstanding claims solutions, investigating complex domestic and commercial property claims from start to finish. Combining technical expertise, analytical thinking and excellent customer service, you'll help customers navigate their claims journey while ensuring fair and accurate outcomes for our clients.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving, making decisions and applying their technical knowledge to real-world situations in a fast-paced and rewarding environment.

Key Responsibilities

No two claims are the same. One day you could be assessing a major escape of water claim, and the next investigating structural damage or helping a business recover from a significant loss event.

You'll:

  • Manage a portfolio of domestic and commercial property claims of varying complexity and value.
  • Interpret and apply policy cover, terms and conditions to determine liability and settlement.
  • Investigate property damage, identifying root causes and appropriate remedial actions.
  • Assess claims involving fire, flood, subsidence, heave, landslip and other insured perils.
  • Review contractors' estimates, repair scopes and technical reports.
  • Negotiate fair and cost-effective settlements with all parties involved.
  • Identify opportunities for recovery and pursue subrogation where appropriate.
  • Conduct investigative interviews and gather supporting evidence to establish claim validity.
  • Provide expert advice and support to customers, clients and colleagues.
  • Ensure all claim files are accurately maintained and managed in line with service standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Continuously seek innovative solutions that deliver the best outcome for both customers and clients.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
