PROPERTY MANAGER
Rendall & Rittner
Competitive
Home Based (London/Essex based portfolio)
Role Overview
You will manage a focused portfolio of eight residential developments across London and Essex. These are small to medium sized leasehold blocks, where you’ll take ownership of day-to-day operations, from building compliance and planned maintenance to contractor oversight, client reporting, and resident experience.
You’ll be the trusted point of contact for clients and residents, balancing the practicalities of safe, well-run buildings with clear communication and proactive solutions. You’ll be supported by an Assistant Property Manager, and you’ll also oversee ground rent administration for two Birmingham assets (Brindley House and Islington Gates), where responsibilities are limited to ground rent only.
ROLE EXPECTATIONS
Most days, you’ll be coordinating maintenance and compliance actions, progressing works with contractors, responding to resident and client queries, and keeping accurate records. You’ll plan and track budgets, prepare reports, and complete site visits to ensure standards are consistently high and issues are resolved before they escalate.
What Success Looks Like
- Residents feel listened to, informed, and satisfied, reflected in positive feedback and low complaint volumes.
- Buildings meet or exceed compliance requirements, with clear audit trails and zero unresolved high-risk actions.
- Service charge budgets are well managed, with timely reporting and variance control throughout the year.
- Clients trust your advice and see steady improvements in building condition, value, and experience.
- Contractors are well briefed, accountable, and deliver works on time, to standard, and within budget.
- Issues are anticipated and resolved early, with clear communication and well-prioritized action plans.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
