Property & Services Administrator
Salary: £24,900 - £28,650 per annum Location: Cambridge (Hybrid: 2 days from home after initial training) Contract: Full-time, permanent (35 hours/week)
About the Role
If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, ensuring smooth operations and actively resolving issues, this role is for you. You’ll join Cambridge University Press & Assessment, a world-leading academic publisher and assessment organisation, supporting the day-to-day functionality of our Cambridge sites.
This practical and hands-on position requires coordination, problem-solving, and clear communication. Your work will directly impact efficiency across the business, ensuring uninterrupted operations and well-maintained facilities.
Key Responsibilities
The primary focus is on coordination, issue resolution, and cross-functional support. Your role will include:
- Managing the property helpdesk and shared inbox, prioritising and addressing incoming requests.
- Coordination of maintenance work, assigning tasks, tracking progress, and ensuring timely resolution.
- Liaising with contractors and suppliers, managing visits, documentation, and compliance.
- Supporting admin and finance tasks, such as processing purchase orders and maintaining records.
- Maintaining accurate logs and records of site activity, suppliers, and work assignments.
- Organising meeting rooms and assisting with internal events.
- Managing on-site accommodation, including bookings and maintenance oversight.
- Collaborating with colleagues to resolve issues and improve workflows over time.
Note: During the initial 24-week training period, full-time on-site attendance is mandatory. After training completion, a hybrid model (2 days remote) will apply, contingent on business needs.

About You
We’re seeking a proactive and organised individual with experience in request management, coordination, and process support. While prior facilities experience is a plus, the role is adaptable to those with transferable skills, such as:
Minimum Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to handle high-volume tasks or queries (e.g., admin, helpdesk, or customer-facing roles).
- Coordination experience with colleagues, contractors, or external partners.
- Administrative/financial support—raising orders, tracking activity, or maintaining records.
- Strong written communication, especially in query resolution or information updates.
- Proficiency in using organisational systems or tracking tools.
Desirable Criteria (Not Essential but Advantageous)
- Experience with supply chain or contractor management.
- Familiarity with procurement or financial processes.
- Support for room bookings, events, or site coordination.
- Experience with structured systems (e.g., maintenance helpdesks).
