We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled Proposal Engineer to support our growing portfolio of fired equipment installation projects across the oil & gas, petrochemical, and energy sectors within our new Construction team for Global Field Services. In this role you will be responsible for developing high‑quality technical and commercial proposals, supporting site surveys across the EMEA region, and collaborating with internal engineering teams and local contractors to define detailed scopes of work. This role combines office‑based engineering with field‑based assessments and offers the opportunity to work on innovative, safety‑critical projects within a global organisation. Key responsibilities: Proposal Development Prepare detailed technical and commercial proposals for fired equipment installations, upgrades, and refurbishments (burners, flares, incinerators, combustion systems). Interpret customer specifications, engineering drawings, and project requirements to produce clear, compliant, and competitive offers. Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, and project management teams to gather accurate cost estimates across mechanical, civil, and E&I disciplines. Develop installation methodologies, execution strategies, and proposal‑level schedules. Ensure all proposals meet Zeeco standards, industry regulations, and customer expectations. Site Surveys & Scope Development Conduct site surveys, equipment assessments, and constructability reviews across the EMEA region. Identify installation constraints, interfaces, and local requirements. Engage with local contractors to obtain budgetary pricing for civil, mechanical, and E&I works. Produce detailed survey reports and develop accurate scopes of work based on real site conditions. Technical Coordination Work closely with Zeeco engineering teams to ensure proposed solutions are technically robust. Support customers with technical clarifications, pre‑bid discussions, and proposal presentations. Provide engineering input during handover from proposal phase to project execution when required. Commercial & Administrative Maintain accurate proposal documentation, cost build‑ups, and commercial assumptions. Contribute to continuous improvement of proposal tools, templates, and cost databases. Assist in developing strategies to improve proposal win rates and overall responsiveness. Skills & experience required: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Construction, or equivalent industry experience. Background in the oil & gas, petrochemical, or energy sectors—ideally with fired equipment, combustion systems, or plant installation projects. Strong understanding of mechanical, civil, and E&I installation practices. Experience preparing technical and commercial proposals or working in a project engineering role with estimating responsibilities. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, layouts, and specifications. Excellent communication and technical writing skills. Full UK valid driving licence. Willingness to travel by Air, boat, car, helicopter as required based on business needs. Why join Zeeco?
