The Position: Proposal Manager

This role sits at the heart of proposal development at Abzena, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with client needs. The Proposal Manager oversees the entire proposal lifecycle—from intake to final submission—and maintains alignment with the wider RFP process while coordinating cross-functional team contributions.


Responsibilities

The Proposal Manager will:

  • Manage a broad portfolio of proposals, from initial receipt to final client submission, feeding into Abzena’s RFP strategy and activities.
  • Coordinate contributions across teams to produce high-quality, persuasive proposals, ensuring alignment with key business opportunities.
  • Lead team alignment discussions, clarifying scope, strategy, and client requirements.
  • Generate accurate pricing for proposals to support commercial viability.
  • Maintain and update budget sheets, proposal templates, and other documentation for internal efficiency.
  • Ensure deliverables comply with client specifications, regulatory standards, and Abzena’s quality policies.
  • Report progress on individual proposals to senior leadership and relevant stakeholders.
  • Support Q&A log and alignment processes during the RFP lifecycle.
  • Utilise Abzena’s systems (e.g., Salesforce, SharePoint) effectively throughout the process.
  • Comply with Abzena’s policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines.
  • Act as a proactive cross-functional collaborator, working collaboratively across departments.
  • Uphold Abzena’s quality standards and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

Qualifications

Candidates should have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field, plus:
    • At least 2 years of proposal management experience within a pharmaceutical or CDMO context (highly desirable).
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Salesforce, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent command of English for business contexts.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively under aggressive deadlines.
  • Strong analytical, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
  • A detailed-oriented, customer-focused approach with exceptional interpersonal skills.
