Job Summary

We’re seeking an experienced, customer-focused Protection Specialist to join our skilled team. In this role, you’ll deliver FCA-compliant advice on protection products, helping clients secure their financial future while meeting business targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Compliant Expert Guidance: Offer tailored advice on a full range of protection products, ensuring compliance and regulatory standards at every stage.
  • Manage Protection Policy End-to-End: Arrange and administer pure protection solutions (life insurance, critical illness cover, income protection, family income benefit) from initial consultation to policy completion.
  • Build Strong Client Relationships: Leverage leads from Mortgage Scout and LRG Estate Agency to develop long-term client connections and foster repeat business and referrals.
  • Deliver Exceptional Customer Service: Maintain high standards in professionalism, quality of advice, and regulatory adherence throughout the client journey.
  • Maximise Sales Opportunities: Proactively identify protection needs, educate clients on financial security, and boost conversion rates through strategic engagement.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Partner closely with Mortgage Scout advisors, estate agents, and internal departments to align leads and business growth.
  • Efficient Policy Processing: Work with your dedicated administrator to manage client applications, resolve queries, and expedite policies “on risk.”
  • Effective Compliance & Records: Ensure FCA-aligned record-keeping and fully adhere to company procedures.
  • Achieve Targets & industry Leadership: Consistently outperform sales, quality, and compliance targets while staying updated on market trends and regulatory updates.

Required Skills & Experience

  • CeMAP Qualification: Must hold qualified status (or equivalent recognition) or be in the process of achieving it.
  • Specialist Expertise: Proven experience as a Protection Adviser, with a focus on arranging multi-benefit protection policies including:
    • Life Assurance
    • Level/Decreasing Critical Illness Cover
    • Income Protection
    • Family Income Benefit
  • Market Awareness: Strong knowledge of protection products, market dynamics, and FCA regulatory requirements.
  • Organisation & Sales Prowess: Highly organised; ability to manage workload efficiently under pressure, while exceeding sales objectives.
  • Synergistic Communication: Exceptional verbal/written skills to build trust, a rapport with clients, introducers, and colleagues.
  • Collaborative Mindset: Aptitude to work in tandem with cross-departmental teams, property agents, and mortgage advisors.
  • Self-Motivation & Speed: Experience thriving in fast-paced environments within high-performance teams.
  • Detail-Oriented & complaint-driven: Unerring focus on adherence to compliance standards and FCA rules.
