Location: The Meadows, Camberley

Brand: Mortgage Scout

Salary: Competitive Salary Package

Hours:

  • Monday to Thursday: 8:30 am to 6 pm
  • Fridays: 8:30 am to 5:30 pm
  • Saturdays: Rotating basis (1 in 4), 10 am to 4 pm

Job Summary and Key Responsibilities

We’re seeking an experienced and customer-focused Protection Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality, compliant advice on a comprehensive range of protection products, helping clients safeguard their financial future.

Working with warm leads from Mortgage Scout and LRG estate agency partners, you’ll build long-term client relationships while delivering outstanding service and achieving business targets.


Duties

  • Provide expert, fully compliant advice and recommendations on a range of protection products, ensuring solutions are tailored to clients' needs and circumstances.
  • Arrange and manage pure protection business (e.g., life insurance, critical illness cover, income protection, family income benefit) from initial enquiry through to policy completion.
  • Build and maintain a strong client base from leads introduced by Mortgage Scout and LRG partners, while identifying opportunities for repeat business and referrals.
  • Deliver exceptional customer experiences through professionalism, high-quality advice, and regulatory compliance.
  • Maximise protection sales opportunities by engaging with clients, identifying needs, and educating them on financial protection.
  • Develop collaborative relationships with Mortgage Scout advisers, estate agency colleagues, and internal teams to optimise lead generation.
  • Work closely with a dedicated administrator to efficiently process applications, manage cases, and keep clients informed.
  • Liaise with insurers, underwriters, and third-party providers to resolve queries and ensure timely case progression.
  • Maintain accurate, compliant client records in line with FCA regulations.
  • Consistently achieve and exceed sales, quality, and compliance targets while contributing to team goals.
  • Stay updated with industry developments, regulatory changes, and product knowledge.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Fully CeMAP qualified (or equivalent recognised qualification).
  • Proven experience as a Protection Adviser, with expertise in:
    • Life Assurance
    • Level and Decreasing Critical Illness Cover
    • Income Protection
    • Family Income Benefit
  • In-depth knowledge of the protection market, products, and FCA regulatory requirements.
  • Strong organisational skills, ability to manage busy workloads effectively.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, fostering trust and long-term client relationships.
  • Track record of exceeding sales and performance targets in a customer-focused environment.
  • Proactive, commercially driven approach to business development and converting leads.
  • Experience collaborating with estate agency teams, mortgage advisers, and internal departments.
  • Professional, adaptable, and self-motivated, with a passion for outstanding client outcomes.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-performance sales environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to compliance standards.
