- Hours: Monday-Thursday: 8:30am – 6pm | Friday: 8:30am – 5:30pm | Saturday (rota): 1 in 4, 10am – 4pm
Job Summary & Key Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused Protection Specialist to join our growing team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality, compliant advice on a comprehensive range of protection products, help clients safeguard their financial future, and build lasting client relationships.
Key Duties Include:
- Provide expert, compliant advice on life insurance, critical illness cover, income protection, and family income benefit, tailored to each client’s needs.
- Arrange and manage pure protection business from inquiry through to policy completion.
- Build a strong client base through Mortgage Scout and LRG estate agency leads, fostering repeat business and referrals.
- Deliver an exceptional customer experience, upholding FCA regulatory compliance and professional standards.
- Maximise sales opportunities by proactively addressing protection needs and educating clients.
- Collaborate with Mortgage Scout advisers, estate agency colleagues, and internal teams to enhance lead generation.
- Coordinate case management with administrators, ensuring smooth processing from application to "on-risk" policy commencement.
- Resolve queries with insurers and underwriters to ensure timely case progression.
- Maintain accurate, compliant client records as required by FCA regulations.
- Exceed sales, quality, and compliance targets while supporting team objectives.
- Stay informed on industry changes, regulatory updates, and product knowledge to sustain high standards.

Requirements
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Fully CeMAP qualified (or equivalent).
- Proven experience as a Protection Adviser, with a strong track record in advising and arranging:
- Life Assurance
- Level and Decreasing Critical Illness Cover
- Income Protection
- Family Income Benefit
- Deep knowledge of the protection market, FCA requirements, and product expertise.
- Strong organisation and time management skills for managing multiple cases.
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities with clients, introducers, and colleagues.
- History of exceeding sales and performance targets in customer-focused roles.
- Proactive, commercially-driven approach with a focus on business development.
- Ability to collaborate with mortgage advisers, estate agents, and stakeholders.
- Professional, adaptable, and self-motivated with a passion for outstanding client outcomes.
- Experience in a fast-paced, high-performance sales environment.
- Rigorous attention to detail and commitment to compliance.
- Satisfactory DBS check required.
