About the Role
The Fellows of Oriel College are seeking to elect a new Provost to succeed Lord Mendoza at the end of the 2026-27 academic year.
Applications are invited from individuals with:

About Oriel College
Oriel is one of the ancient and distinctive colleges of the University of Oxford, founded in 1326 as a royal foundation. Located in historic buildings in the heart of Oxford, the College is an independent, self-governing charity focused on the advancement of education, learning, and research.

The Provost is head of the College with ultimate responsibility for:
- Effective operation of the College as a place of education and scholarship.
- Discipline within the community.
- Safety and well-being of all members.
Successful candidates must:
- Be enthusiastic about the academic and intellectual life of the College.
- Be committed to building and uniting our diverse community.
- Demonstrate:
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Leadership through influence, persuasion, and consensus—not formal authority.
