SEN STEM Teacher (PRU) – Lambeth – Immediate Start

This forward-thinking Pupil Referral Unit in the London Borough of Lambeth is seeking an engaging and resilient SEN STEM Teacher to join their team on a full-time, temp-to-perm basis. Supporting KS3 and KS4 pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism and complex barriers to learning, the school delivers a broad, practical curriculum that helps students reconnect with education and prepare for life beyond the classroom.

This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who enjoys bringing Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics to life through practical, engaging lessons that inspire curiosity and build confidence.

SEN STEM Teacher – What the Role Involves

As an SEN STEM Teacher, you'll deliver engaging, differentiated STEM lessons across KS3 and KS4, adapting learning to meet a range of academic abilities and additional needs.

  • Use practical projects, problem-solving activities and real-world learning to develop pupils' confidence, resilience and employability skills.
  • Working closely with Behaviour Mentors, pastoral staff and external professionals, you'll play a key role in helping students achieve qualifications while preparing them for further education, apprenticeships and employment.

SEN STEM Teacher – What the School is Looking For

The ideal SEN STEM Teacher will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), although experienced unqualified teachers and industry professionals with relevant teaching experience will also be considered.

  • Previous experience within a PRU, Alternative Provision, SEMH or SEND setting would be advantageous, although strong mainstream teachers looking to transition into specialist education are encouraged to apply.
  • The school is seeking a calm, adaptable and creative practitioner who can build positive relationships while maintaining high expectations for every learner.
