PRU Teacher – Southwark – Immediate Start
This well-established Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in the London Borough of Southwark is seeking a resilient and dedicated PRU Teacher to join their team on a full-time, temp-to-perm basis. The provision supports students who have experienced barriers to mainstream education, providing a structured and supportive environment where young people are encouraged to re-engage with learning, develop positive behaviours, and achieve meaningful outcomes.

PRU Teacher – The Role
• Deliver engaging lessons across a range of subjects to KS3 and KS4 students • Adapt teaching to meet a variety of academic, behavioural, and emotional needs • Build positive relationships that encourage engagement and attendance • Support students to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential • Work collaboratively with pastoral teams, mentors, and external agencies
PRU Teacher – What the School is Looking For
The ideal PRU Teacher will hold QTS, although applications are welcomed from experienced unqualified teachers, instructors, and alternative provision practitioners. Previous experience within a PRU, SEMH school, Alternative Provision, or working with students displaying challenging behaviour would be highly advantageous. The school is seeking a calm, consistent, and relationship-focused practitioner who can maintain high expectations, establish clear boundaries, and inspire students who may have become disengaged from education.
