PSA AQ Risk and Compliance Manager
Senior Manager - Public Sector Audit Quality and Risk

About the Role
This role is within the Public Sector Audit Quality and Risk (PSA AQ) Team. You’ll work closely with this team to provide quality and risk management support to:
- Our grants compliance teams
- Our financial reporting assurance teams
Your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with a diverse workforce at various levels of seniority
- Delivering projects effectively
- Ensuring that teams manage their legal, technical, regulatory, and risk management responsibilities—while championing the firm’s quality agenda
This particularly suits motivated, driven professionals with:

Responsibilities
As a Manager in the PSA AQ team, your central duties will include:
- Risk management and quality support for PSA teams, and other assurance and advisory teams where necessary
- Reviewing draft engagement contracts and other key documents
- Facilitating contract negotiations with clients through cross-team collaboration (including Firm’s audit, quality, and Legal teams)
- Ensuring engagement letters and risks align with public sector framework requirements
- Connecting, mentoring, and educating client-facing teams to enhance risk awareness, improving ability to manage risks suitably
- Developing and maintaining training materials, including presenting at relevant training sessions
- Ensuring required controls are understood and implemented by frontline teams
- Identifying emerging risks and fostering proactive risk management
- Effectively advancing team collaboration across the Firm—supporting measurable improvements across Assessment, Policy, and Process
- Guiding policy development alongside support functions (such as Legal and Ethics), to overcome client-facing challenges and refine firm processes
- Maintaining guidance resources, including template documentation
- Overseeing service line file review and monitoring procedures

Requirements
Minimum Criteria
To excel in this role, you must satisfy one of the following:

A professional certification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, ICAS) complemented by experience within:
- An assurance or advisory business unit of a professional services firm

Or proven expertise in legal/risk management, featuring:
- Advising on contracts
- Developing policies
-
Or:
Experience within public sector procurement, specifically within:
- Contracts management
Desirable Attributes

- Knowledge of professional services advisory language and delivery frameworks
- Experience with drafting, reviewing, or negotiating contract terms
- A proactive mindset and pride in delivering high-quality output

- Awareness of ethical principles in professional services, particularly auditing
