We're recruiting on behalf of a leading passenger transport operator for skilled and motivated technicians to join their engineering team in Reading. The Role
As a PCV/HGV Technician, you'll play a vital role in ensuring a fleet of buses and coaches are maintained to the highest safety and reliability standards. Working within a professional engineering team, you'll carry out servicing, repairs, diagnostics and inspections to keep vehicles operating efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on PCV and HGV vehicles.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical and electronic faults.
- Complete vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance.
- Record work completed accurately using digital workshop systems.
- Ensure all work complies with health & safety and DVSA standards.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop environment.
- Work collaboratively with the wider engineering team to maximise fleet availability.

What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a PCV, HGV, LGV, Truck or Heavy Vehicle Technician.
- NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle or PSV Maintenance or a minimum of five years' relevant heavy vehicle maintenance experience.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Good understanding of vehicle maintenance standards and workshop procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A PCV licence would be advantageous but is not essential.
