Job Title: PSV Technician
Location: Bracknell, RG12
Salary: GBP21.79 per hour
Job Type: Full time, Permanent
Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off Monday to Friday : 06.00 - 14.00

Overview
We are looking for self-motivated, technically minded individuals with a passion for the fast-paced and dynamic bus industry. As a PSV Technician, you will be a key member of our Engineering team, responsible for the high-standard maintenance of our fleet. This role is ideal for an experienced mechanic who thrives in a workshop environment and is committed to keeping our buses running smoothly, safely, and efficiently.
Duties
- Preventative and Reactive Maintenance: Conduct thorough inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on our fleet to ensure full roadworthiness and compliance with local transport regulations.
- Defect Rectification: Proactively attend to daily driver-reported defects. You will be expected to diagnose issues quickly and apply effective, lasting repairs to minimize vehicle downtime.
- Advanced Diagnostics: Utilize your technical expertise to investigate, troubleshoot, and diagnose complex mechanical and electronic faults within modern bus systems.
- Digital Documentation: Accurately record all faults found and the remedial work performed using our digital systems (tablet-based). Clear and concise reporting is essential for audit compliance and fleet history tracking.
- Safety and Compliance: Strictly adhere to all health and safety guidelines. You are responsible for maintaining a clean, orderly workspace and promptly reporting any potential safety hazards to the management team.

Requirements
- Technical Qualifications: You must possess at least an NVQ Level 2 qualification in the maintenance and repair of Public Service Vehicles (PSV). Alternatively, we will accept candidates with at least five years of demonstrable experience in repairing and maintaining PSVs (proof of experience will be required).
- Professional Development: Candidates must possess an IRTEC Vehicle Inspector qualification. If you do not currently hold this, you must be prepared to obtain it within your first six months of employment (support provided).
- Licensing: While not essential, holding a full PCV licence would be a significant advantage.
- Self-Management: You should have the ability to manage your individual workload effectively, prioritize urgent repairs, and work independently within a broader team setting.
