Position Details
Position Title: Psychiatry Senior Registrar
Employment Type: Temporary, Full time Classification: Senior Registrar Salary: $173,760 (per annum) Location: Canberra Hospital, Garran, ACT / North Canberra Hospital, Bruce, ACT Section: Mental Health, Justice Health and Alcohol and Drug Service Closing Date: 2 August 2026

About the Role
Applications are sought for the 2027 clinical year, commencing February 2027, for a term of 12 months.
To qualify, applicants must be PGY7+ by February 2027.

The Mental Health, Justice Health and Alcohol & Drug Services (MHJHADS) division operates a range of services, including prevention, treatment, recovery, harm minimisation, and maintenance, with a focus on consumer and carer participation. Partnerships range from hospital to community-based settings, including inpatient/outpatient ward environments, detention centres, health centres, and peoples' homes.
The Senior Registrar role bridges advanced clinical training with leadership responsibilities, contributing to:
- Teaching and registrar support
- Clinical governance
- Bridging psychiatric trainees with MHJHADS leadership to ensure high-quality training and service delivery
