Note: This role will be filled at either Health Professional Level 2 or Psychologist Level 2 depending on qualifications and experience, in line with the Enterprise Agreement.
HP2 Salary: $91,026 - $108,691 (Plus 12.5% Super)
P2 Salary: $91,026 - $117,896 (Plus 12.5% Super)

About the Role
We have two position vacancies (open to Psychologists, Social Workers, or Occupational Therapists) available within community and custodial facets of Forensic Mental Health Services. One vacancy relates to a permanent position within community facets of Forensic Mental Health Services. One vacancy relates to a 6-months temporary position within custodial facets of Forensic Mental Health Services. Appointment to a particular program area will be guided by successful candidates' skill sets and interest areas.
Community facets of Forensic Mental Health Services
Encompass specialist multidisciplinary tertiary mental health services that aim to provide expert assessment, knowledge, and skills to general mental health services (including community and inpatient services) and other stakeholders (including police, courts, and custodial centres) regarding treatment and support of people experiencing mental illness/disorder who are at high-risk of offending and/or those already in the criminal justice system.

Custodial facets of Forensic Mental Health Services
Provide quality mental health assessments and intervention to adults and young people presenting with mental illness who have had contact with the criminal justice system, including community mental health consumers and detainees within the ACT’s two correctional centres: the Alexander Maconochie Centre and the Bimberi Youth Justice Centre.
As a specialist area, clinicians across Forensic Mental Health Services are provided with specialist training and clinical supervision, and are consistently encouraged to be involved in a collaborative and multidisciplinary team environment. Clinicians are supported to maintain continuing professional development requirements, appropriate to area of service provision, including forensic mental health-specific training, individual and group-based clinical supervision, research groups, and regular in-services.
While prior experience as a mental health clinician in forensic and custodial contexts is highly desirable, successful clinicians will be supported to partake in the necessary education and training required to work within Forensic Mental Health practice contexts on commencement.

- Undergo a pre-employment National Police Check.
- Current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required.
- Comply with Canberra Health Services Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination policy.
- Comply with CHS credentialing and scope of clinical practice requirements for allied health professionals.
