Psychology Graduate - Mental Health Assistant

Turn your psychology degree into real-world impact.

Are you a psychology graduate who wants more than just theory? Ready to step into a role where every day challenges you, stretches you, and genuinely matters?

We're looking for a Mental Health Assistant to join a specialist school in Maidenhead supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. These students are resilient, complex, and full of potential—but many have experienced adverse childhood experiences, including neglect, and need the right support to thrive.

This isn't your typical classroom role. It's hands-on, heart-led, and deeply rewarding. You will be working with students one to one or in small groups, focusing on their personalised intervention plans and ensuring they are able to access their education in the same way as their mainstream peers.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
