Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant

£85 - £101 per day
Academic Year – September 2026 to July 2027
‘Good’ school based in Shrewsbury
Support SEN students on a 1:1 and small group basis

The Role

Provide 1:1 and small-group support for students with additional needs across the school day. You will help pupils access learning, follow routines, stay engaged in lessons, build confidence, and work closely with teachers and wider staff to support academic progress and emotional wellbeing.

Requirements

  • Degree – A 2:2 or above in Psychology or a related subject.
  • Communication – Clear and confident verbal and written communication.
  • Enhanced DBS – Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.
  • Desire to work in education/with children – Genuine interest in supporting pupil progress and wellbeing.
  • Career Goals – A desire to pursue a career in educational or clinical psychology.

This ‘Good’ school based in Shrewsbury offers the chance to build valuable SEN experience in a setting where structure, patience, and purposeful support matter. You will work closely with teaching staff and wider professionals in a role that gives you direct exposure to day-to-day SEND provision, practical intervention, and the support strategies schools use to help students access learning more successfully.
