Psychology Teaching Assistant - What the Role Involves
- Supporting Psychology teachers across KS4 and sixth form to deliver intellectually stimulating lessons
- Delivering targeted one-to-one and small-group tutoring sessions for pupils preparing for GCSE and A-Level examinations
- Helping students develop analytical writing, research skills, and understanding of core psychological theories
- Tracking student progress and feeding back regularly to the class teacher and Head of Department
- Building confident, academically focused relationships with sixth form students throughout the year
Psychology Teaching Assistant - What the School is Looking For
The ideal Psychology Teaching Assistant will hold a 2:1 or 1st Class degree from a top 30 UK university, ideally in Psychology or a closely related discipline. Previous child-centred experience in a UK educational setting is highly valued. The school is seeking an intellectually curious, articulate, and committed Psychology Teaching Assistant with strong communication skills and a genuine passion for the subject.

Psychology Teaching Assistant - Salary and Contract Info
- £450 to £550 per week, pro rata to term time only
- Full-time, long-term contract from September 2026 to July 2027
- Term-time only
- Potential for extended contracts or teacher training pathways following a successful placement
