Psychology Technician (Grade 5)
Technician (Psychology) – University of Salford
The University of Salford’s School of Health and Society is seeking a proactive, highly organised, and detail-oriented Technician (Psychology) to support teaching, research, and operational excellence within our Psychology and School of Health & Society laboratories.
The role will involve providing technical support to both staff and students, ensuring the sustained functionality of laboratory equipment, maintaining high standards of teaching and research, and enhancing the student experience through practical activities and learning resources.
We are looking for someone who is customer-focused, adaptable, and committed to delivering high-quality support across our psychology lab facilities and School of Health & Society.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist staff and students with technical support for Psychology learning and research activities
- Oversee and maintain psychology laboratories, equipment, and equipment stores, including stock control
- Contribute to the development of teaching, research, and enterprise activities
- Provide timely responses to customer enquiries (e.g., through the technical team inbox) while adhering to service standards
- Support day-to-day laboratory operations, including preparing spaces for teaching and practical demonstrations
- Conduct technical equipment training sessions for staff and students
